Post-doctoral position for an organic chemist


Applications are invited for a full-time research position in the group of Crystal Engineering, located in the Centre of New Technologies at the University of Warsaw, Poland, in the framework of a SONATA BIS project: “The role of non-covalent interactions in the formation of supramolecular assemblies and the phenomenon of single-crystal-to-single-crystal transformations“, funded by the National Science Centre.
The candidate should be a skilled organic chemist, who is able to work independently in the lab and has a passion for bench work. The work will focus on the synthesis of a range of organic molecules (for example heterocyclic ligands), which will be used in the lab for further studies.
- PhD in the area of Organic Chemistry
- good knowledge of common techniques of compound purification and characterisation (NMR in solution, HPLC, MS, IR, elemental analysis, etc.)
- ability to perform work under inert atmosphere (Schlenk line)
- fluency in English and experience in scientific writing (knowledge of Polish is not a requirement)
- ability to function well in a team
